Refuse & recycling
Yarnton Parish Council is responsible for cutting specific areas of grass in public areas around the village.
Each year the Parish Council organises a village Spring clean with the aid of village-based volunteer organisations and individuals. By working together we pick up litter and help to keep the village an enjoyable place for all residents and visitors.
If you would like to participate look out for the dates in the Village News and on the noticeboards. During the rest of the year, the Parish Council employs a Village Tidier to pick up litter and empty the bins, but we all have a responsibility to keep our village tidy. Wherever you are please take your rubbish home or dispose of it responsibly.
Dog fouling
It is an offence not to pick up after a dog and offensive to members of the public to see dog bags dumped on the ground and in hedges. To assist dog owners, there are more than a dozen dog bins located around the village.
If a dog bin is full, please report it to Cherwell District Council by calling phone: 01295 227007 or email customer.service@cherwell-dc.gov.uk
Litter bins
There are also a large number of litter bins around the village and a number of small recycling bins suitable for newspapers, magazines, plastic bottles and cans.
Recycling bins
Glass recycling bins can be found in Cassington Road at the end of the cul-de-sac that runs off the Cresswell Road/Oxford Industrial Park roundabout.
Furniture and large items
Oxfordshire County Council recently launched a facility to help residents recycle or repair all sorts of items. To use ‘Wastewizard’ you will need to enter your postcode to be directed to relevant information by clicking here to visit the website.
