Playing Fields
Yarnton playing fields are a vibrant community space for all ages, promoting sports and leisure. With green spaces, playgrounds, and sports facilities, our playing fields at Rutten Lane Park and Little Marsh Playing Field foster community spirit and healthy lifestyles.
Yarnton Parish Council is the landowner of Rutten Lane Park and of Littlemarsh Playing Field and its Pavilion. The Parish Council leases these two sites and Littlemarsh Pavilion to the Playing Field Management Committee, which is a registered charity run by its Trustees and a group of volunteers. The Playing Field Management Committee manage the sports and recreational areas at Rutten Lane Park and Little Marsh Playing Field independently of Yarnton Parish Council.

The Playing Field Management Committee's activities are funded by grants which are spent on maintenance and improvement projects.

The Playing Field Management Committee meet on a monthly basis, (usually the 3rd Monday of the month) at Little Marsh Pavilion to agree and discuss maintenance and improvement projects that are needed in the sports and recreational areas.
Members work together to manage and allocate jobs that need doing to source contractors and volunteers to complete the work. The Playing Field Management Committee are responsible for organising the annual Yarnton Fireworks as this is our main fundraising event.
The Annual General Meeting takes place in May and Yarnton residents are welcome to attend this and any monthly meetings. Please contact us at yarntonplayingfields@outlook.com in advance so we can confirm dates, venue and agree attendance.
The Yarnton Playing Field Management Committee look after the following areas:
Little Marsh Sports Field which is located on Green Lane behind the Turnpike Pub provides pitches for Yarnton junior and senior football teams, together with floodlit training facilities. Car Parking is available on site for organised activities only.
Little Marsh Pavilion is a spacious room with a separate kitchen available for hire to use for small functions and meetings etc. The Pavillion maybe booked (subject to approval by the Committee) by an organisation or individuals.
Rutten Lane Park provides a well equipped children’s play area, a fenced area providing tarmac pitches for netball, five-a-side football and basketball. Two junior size football pitches are used by the Boys Football Club.
All sports pitches have the benefit of floodlight facilities for both matches and training. Limited off road car parking is available for organised activities only.
The playing field is an important community asset and provides a recreational space for all. For the enjoyment and security those using the parks please note that dogs are not allowed in Rutten Lane Park.
